Recently Handmade Custom Leather Bags
Another month of custom Design Your Own orders have been wrapped up and shipped out! I’m so stoked for my customers to receive their beautiful leather bags and goods! This batch was truly special and one of a kind.
I’m sharing pictures of the batch below! I’ll come back to this blog post to type out the leathers / colors I used.
My production team helped me with this batch which was soo nice because they also handmade our next Ready To Ship bags with this batch, but they struggled! It’s challenging to make a larger batch of one a kind bags, I get it. It takes a lot of patience to not mess up since each one is different. You have to constantly double, triple check your work, especially because leather is not forgiving.
So yes the Chicago production team struggled, but they did it and they did it really well. The quality is what matters the most, but going forward we’re going to have to consider a fair-trade artisan agreement. The team wants to charge me extra to make batches as unique like this one they just finished. It’s significant and I’m not ready to raise my prices nor am I ready to pay additional fees. I am sure my customers are not ready too, so I am going to have to adjust my Design Your Own process again.
I’ll be making DYO orders solely alone in my workshop again. That means I will have a cap on orders per month, depending on my social / family / friend schedule and my physical / mental health.

September Design Your Own Week opens 9/15. I will accept 10 orders and then the collection will close. It might be closed before the week ends ~ so set those alarms and order early!
