March in the home workshop.

From northern Illinois at the Bird Trouble headquarters.

March is almost over. I grouped some of my favorite customer, home, and workshop photos to make this little blog post for you all!

We’ve had both Winter and Spring for a majority of this month. Like most, I’m eager for warmth and the return of flowers and more birds. I’ve been staying busy and inspired though. After spending my husband’s birthday in Austin, Texas… I re-stocked my exclusive retailers after pulling all inventory to vend at Milwaukee’s Mama Tried motorcycle show, I filed my taxes, officially launched the Exclusive Members Area Subscription, finished Design Your Own orders, and shipped out Ready To Ship orders! I balanced all that work with relaxing in-home and outdoor plant care, and I booked another trip.

I’m going to see my parents in Mexico in about a week. It’s been a few years since I’ve gone back there. 2022 and 2023 just flew by. My now-husband and I brought a home, furnished it, got married, and have done a lot of work to it. Our careers have been crazy. But I’m very excited to return and to spend time quality with family. I love working for myself and online for this kind of flexible freedom.

In 2023, I worked with my production teams and vendors more than ever. My order minimum changed with the Chicago production team, motivating me to order 5 units of each style at a time. 2023 was a big investment but looking back, it boosted my business and reassured me of my confidence in being a self-employed and business owner. This year I placed another order with the Chicago team. We’re off to a great start. You can find those bags in the Ready To Ship collection - they’re selling out, but some are still available!

Thanks to your support in my work and my small business. This little life of mine and making beautiful leather goods for ya’ll would not be possible without YOU. xo, Alexz
